I feel like I’d be turning my back on a friend to choose only 3, so I’ll choose 3 with some honorable mentions.
Family owned and WILD. Get the Francesca’s Favorite & Busch. St. Louis style.
To be honest, we haven’t loved it when we’ve gotten something other than pizza, but you don’t need to. The Pepperoni is perfect. New York style.
Same family as Nick & Elena’s and that family makes good pizza. STL
Another banger for St. Louis style.
Good St. Louis style and damn good beer (Narrow Gauge is in Cugino’s)
Call it North County Light but too good to not put on this list. New York style.
Before we’d do anything, we’d hang with our cats Rangoon & Ravioli. If you like cats, you’ll love em. If you don’t like cats, you’re wrong.
Then we’d probably start with Michelle and I getting coffee and breakfast at Blueprint. I haven’t been able to figure it out, but whatever the hell Blueprint is putting in their biscuits, it works. Get their Eggs Florentine and thank me later.
(Slip in a quick workout)
Go to see Matt & Jordan at Louie.
Dessert at Skeeters in Overland.
Bed by 9.
University City. The location, the architecture, the diversity. So many rad things about it.
Hmmm, this is tough. I do love pizza, but we already talked about that. T-Ravs are in the same boat. I’m a huge fan of breakfast food though, especially savory brekky, so I’d have to say a slinger and Southwest Diner makes a mean one.
Hmmm. Perspective. People trying things they haven’t yet but have been meaning to. People getting on board with something new for the city that might be a little different. Just a little more effort in growth and rallying behind the city to push it further. No reason it can't compete with some of the other cities that are buzzin' right now.
David Rygiol is the one that comes to mind. An incredibly talented human and just a damn good dude.
Mary Frances Foster is another one. Some vintage steeze that is super refreshing. She’s mastered the texture of nostalgia. I’m such a sucker for that vibe.
Mitch Myers is doing some super wild 3D/motion work. Like Emmy winning work. @mitchmyersofficial
Marcus Stabenow and Alyssa Knowling are doing some really rad work for some of the spots we love the most in STL. @visitorassembly
Very much a relationship person. Always down to get coffee and actually chat. But instagram is as good as anything these days. You can find me at @skcrub. My portfolio site is KIND of up to date at skcrub.studio.
You can also follow along to all the things we’re doing at @basicagency. That’s where I spend my days. Well, kind of. Most of those friends are in San Diego, but we’ve got some fun coming this way soon.
